Steering Committee Mission Statement

The North Central Neighborhood Steering Committee is a coalition of local residents and city government working together to improve the health and quality of life in the North Central Neighborhood. The boundaries include Redlands Boulevard, Anderson Street, Mountain View Avenue and Van Leuven Street.

The North Central Neighborhood Steering Committee’s goals are to address neighborhood concerns such as beautification, street improvements, safety and resident outreach thru various programs such as:

 The Grants for Blocks Program

The Tool Lending Library

The Community Garden Project

Accomplishments
NCN Steering Committee
  • scheduled/held regular monthly meetings
  • addressed variety of issues in the NCN
  • expanded NCN meeting to include various city departments
Implemented Grants for Blocks Program
  • promoting grants as a solution for code compliance
  • incentive for residents to beautify exterior frontage of home
Implemented Tool Lending Library
  • applied for additional grant funding
  • implemented the tool library as a positive solution for code compliance
Expanded Community Garden
  • conducted gardening/nutrition classes
  • added shade cover, electricity, signage, picnic tables
  • benches, additional gardening tools
California Healthy Cities Grant
  • assisted in securing additional funding for fiscal year 03-04
