CENIC Innovation in Networking Award - March, 2006
awardThe City of Loma Linda won the Corporation for Education Network Initiatives in California (CENIC) Innovation in Networking Award in Gigabit Applications. The award is the latest of several awards honoring the innovation and creativity of the Loma Linda Connected Community Program, (LLCCP).

CENIC highlights network applications by identifying exemplary innovations that have the potential to improve the way instruction and research is conducted, even when the impact of the innovation may not be felt immediately. Past winners of CENIC awards include major California universities, counties, cities and school districts. The 2006 Innovation in Networking Award in Gigabit Applications was presented at CENIC’s 10th annual conference on March 14, 2006 in Oakland, Calif.

The CORNERSTONE Award for Most Creative FTTH Deployment, 2005
awardThe City of Loma Linda won the 2005 Cornerstone Most Creative FTTH Deployment Award for their Loma Linda Connected Commnunity Program, (LLCCP). The LLCCP is a city designed and maintained high-speed fiber optic network that not only delivers broadband connectivity which surpasses most commercial Cable and DSL options, but will be immediately able to handle gigabit transmission speeds as these technologies start to arrive. 

At the same time, Loma Linda's Fiber To The Home deployment is paving the way for other communities to venture into providing the Fifth Utility, broadband connectivity.
