Employee Benefits

The City of Loma Linda allows employees to make certain benefit changes during the annual Open Enrollment period, unless a qualifying life event occurs. Open Enrollment is held each fall, typically from mid-September through mid-October, with changes effective January 1 of the following year.

Outside of Open Enrollment, employees may only make changes if they experience a qualifying life event, such as marriage, birth, adoption, or a change in dependent status that results in a loss of coverage. Employees must notify the Human Resources Department and submit required documentation within 30 days of the qualifying life event in order to make changes to coverage. Requests received after 30 days will not be processed until the next Open Enrollment period, unless otherwise required by law or plan rules.
