Community Development

The Community Development Department is located adjacent to the lobby of Loma Linda’s beautiful City Hall. The Department is comprised of Planning and the Building and Safety Divisions. Staff members are available to take your questions at the counter, by telephone, or through e-mail.

PLANNING DIVISION - Planners implement the Loma Linda the City’s General Plan and enforce the zoning code. This ensures that new development is attractive, compatible with its surroundings, and meets the standards of our community’s vision for the future.

BUILDING AND SAFETY DIVISION – Building staff implements the Building Code and other applicable rules and guidelines. This ensures the proper construction of buildings within Loma Linda, protects the public’s health and safety, and protects and improves property values by enforcing standards for high-quality construction.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT - Planning staff is available to help business owners navigate the business creation process while continuing to enhance and promote a healthy community.

For general inquiries, the Building Department can be contacted via email at [email protected] or by phone at (909) 799-2836Please note, Building and Safety Division staff is available at the public counter ONLY between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Building permits are only issued during these hours. Inspection times may vary.

Regular business hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. City Hall is not open on Friday.  

We highly recommend you make an appointment prior to coming into the office.
