City of Loma Linda
Introduction
The City of Loma Linda incorporated as a City in September 1970 and operates under the council/city manager form of government. The City Council is the legislative branch responsible for making policy decisions and passing ordinances concerning the conduct, affairs, and operations of the City. Additionally, the City Council also serves as the board of the Loma Linda Housing Authority and the Successor Agency. The City Council is comprised of five members, elected by district to four-year terms. Subsequent to the election, the City Council members select the Mayor and Mayor pro tempore.
The regular meeting schedule for the City Council of the City of Loma Linda is the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. However, in the past years, the City Council has adjusted its meeting schedule to once a month, specifically the second Tuesday of the month, to account for reduced staffing, holidays, school breaks, and vacations. This modification is intended to accommodate and facilitate workloads. The City Council retains the option to convene on the fourth Tuesday of each month should business necessitate a second meeting.
